Good year for Kanuka ?

The Kanuka round here..Nelson City .. is pretty good this year, it started a month ago, and is still going on with some trees just starting...It's the same in north Waikato at my daughter's place.....

its been looking really good, but it depends on if this weather will play ball.
the other issue is clover has been running for quite some time and once that gets going they will ignore everything else.
many years ago i mentioned a story of my early days. we put hives smack bang in the middle of the manuka and got boxes and boxes of clover. they flew for miles to go get it to.

Meanwhile…. Up here in the Northern Hemisphere the daffodils are starting to flower. I usually took that as a sign to start raising queen cells…. Yeah, Nah😳

Yes. Extra heavy kanuka yield here is some places, not good in others, lots of bad weather has messed with the bees ability to go and collect it.

Kanuka flow slowing here now, but could be cos so many rainy days has meant not many days over the last couple weeks for the bees to work it. Good weather expected so let's see what happens!
