Hey ladies and gents. I have plenty of lovely red propolis which I’ve been storing in a sealed jar, and I’ve got plenty of lovely filtered yellow wax from cappings. I’m hoping to make some products such as balms and tinctures. Hey beekeepers! I collected my propolis from my first ever hives this year, using scraped honey boxes and propolis mats, and I keep it in a container in the freezer. Originally I had the intention of using it to make some tincture, but after struggling to figure out how to distill the alcohol out of the tincture I sort of let it go for a while.. then I made a salve from propolis infused olive oil and beeswax and it has been amazing to my skin. Looking to start collecting propolis this season. I plan to use the pre cut mesh from Ceracell. With these mats do you place the mat under the inner cover or completely replace the inner cover with the propolis mat. Also if I were to use these with the corner access feeders, is it just a case of cutting the corners off the mats, has anyone done this?
