  1. Hello all I am just starting out and i was wondering where to get packaged bees from. I live in Hamilton 3210 and i cannot find any Any suggestions would be really helpful Thanks
  2. There is so much in flower and the bees still prefer 1sugar : 4 water I give to the tui's every morning. The tui's aren't bothered to stick there tong through a pile of bees. Sometimes 3 birds fight over who was first in a cloud of bees who are keen to clean the pole of any drops these messy eaters leave. This is no question to my fellow beekeepers, I am just mesmerized :).
  3. One thing about time off in nice weather is that you can watch your bees. Only this afternoon my watching was interrupted by a flock of starlings. Each time they came down to the hives, they'd walk to the entrance and target the drones, leaving the workers alone. I wonder how long it took them to learn this behaviour? Not once did they take a worker. I wonder if they take Queens?
