  1. Hi there, I was wondering if anyone knows the current going rate for monofloral Manuka with an MGO of 400 - 475. Got a fair bit currently stored in drums, I'm thinking about putting on the market. cheers
  2. Hi There, I have heard that bees only go to flowering Manuka if it is their only option... as they prefer rewarewa or clover for example. However, recently I have heard experienced beekeepers say the opposite? Does anyone have any opinion on this based on facts/experience? Cheers
  3. Hi There, I see some companies market their Manuka as medical grade. At what UMF does Manuka become medical grade? I saw something online that said UMF 10+ and over is considered medical grade, is this correct?   6. Hi there, When it comes to storing honey for potentially long periods of time in 300kg drums. Is room temperature generally ok? Or if you have the option, would it be better stored in temperature controlled rooms? thanks

  13. That’s my line of thinking too. I mentioned the robbing/disease to this gentleman in Canada who practices the open feeding. he replied the following; robbing: he said he places the barrel 50m away from the apiary, which replicated a nectar flow. He thought feeding each individual hive encourages robbing more so than his method, because it attracts other bees and wasp directly to the hive (especially with spillage), rather than drawing them 50m away to the barrel.
