  15. Not economical for me to pay for gas when i have free power. However some can have fixed gas payment and use as much as they like. That would be an option. Adding electric elements to the 9kg might be an option for me.
  16. Better to use the chest freezer with an electric blanket for warming up crystallize honey. I think steam is a better option than dry heat. The steam will rise to the top and force the air (insulator) down. That steam rig was thought of and made up in an hr as a test with what i had available. I was pleasantly suprised at the outcome from 1 free hr of power from cold. Had to top up the steamer with boiling water from a jug as i was not sure of the minimum water level. It was easy to get rid of the softened cocoon and pollen capsules. There were pool of wax on top of frames of the bottom box. Do
  17. More use of my free power. First time doing it this way. Oven warming drawer at the bottom. Oven baking dish inside. Timber and propolis mat as strainer. Hook up wall paper steamer. Cover with plastic so condensate goes into floor drain. Scrap over fly screen mesh.
  18. At what point, generation, year, date do you classify them as immigrants. The Moriori to the Maori, the European to the Maori, the Chinese, Pacific ...... Check out some health-care facilities and see who is looking after the "discarded " folks as it's no longer suitable for their children to have them as part of the family. For some, their quality of life has improved including the agricultural sector engaging migrant workers and enjoying the profit base on cheaper willing labour.
  19. It does depends on the type of immigrants. I know of some war related refugees who has done very well for their family. Their community support each other. Some have real pride in themselves ensuring their next generation has a better life. Started businesses and have a drive to do better. There are those that do take advantage what has been offered and enjoy the new Kiwi life style of social welfare. They have a lot of stuff given to them with HNZ houses. Lots of support. No different to lots of Kiwi who do well and some are just like drones.

  24. Being busy using as much free power as i can melting wax. Since joining a power company for 29 days I am paying for 358 KWh ($0.27 /KWh $0.34/day inc gst) and using 422 KWh free power. I have set up 5 wifi switch capable of handling 3KW each with timer and power consumption monitors. Awaiting delivery of more wifi switches. DIY home automation. Next project to use more free power is either a converted oven to melt the wax on frames or a steam chest to do stack of boxes. Anyone wanting free power, PM me your email and will send a link.
