This video inspired me a lot to get a Bee Vacuum myself. And the system you use seems realy efficient, without much space for failure. Unfortunately where I live I can not purchase such a bucket, so I wont be able to replicate this one. While searching for dust separators, I stumbled upon cyclone separator attachments for regular vacuums. The setup would be similar to this one http://kk.org/cooltools/files/2015/11/dustdeputy.jpg. Here the concept https://www.oneida-air.com/images/static/dust-deputy-cyclone-diagram.png I believe it could be an alternative, with additional advantages:

The tangent entry would eliminate any impact to the bee.
Once in the bucket, beneath the separator, the bees would be in and suction free environment, so imaginably less stress.
I wont start right away with the project, but would appreciate any thoughts on the idea.

My unit is battery operated. Your one looks great. It is just the getting power to the swarm which can be a problem Best wishes
