Comvita shares slump 11% - tips 1H loss

Recommended Posts

Time to buy some more shares @yesbut

The company today told shareholders at its annual meeting in Te Puke that a loss was likely when its six-monthly results are announced next February because of a fall-off in sales out of Australasia since Chinese authorities cracked down on grey market traders.

What does this mean? I thought a crack down on dodgy manuka would make the real stuff more valuable?

Based on our recent shipments, honey is duty free into China, under the NZCHFTA.

There is a 13.8% sales tax applied.

Reading the business news, I see China has imposed a tax on Internet purchases (rather like we have). This has suppressed demand, especially for imported consumer products like (but it not only) honey.
