A few guys have tried growing it up here for its strong winter/ spring growth , but you dont see it around much . It's quite a big plant , so whether that means the flowers are hard for the bees to get nectar from , like a red clover , I'm not sure . Could be a good cover crop in between summer crops , but typically the paddocks get cultivated just when the plants get into flowering mode . There is a heap of kumara land up here and it would be nice to have it planted in something other than annual ryegrass over winter .
