Pbee 1,256
what do other people think of this Beetek make plastic frames and Ecroyd are beekeeping supplies Could bee a good move? Ordering boxes, roofs, floors, plastic frames, queen excluders or propolis mats or autumn Varroa treatment and you only have to deal with one person. No calling around. Or could bee a bad move? Like logistics or staff fail, power outages, natural disasters... Bigger is not always better. Prices may come down? Just thinking out loud...
deejaycee 2,457
I really hope it goes well for them... and I'm really looking forward to Ecroyd having a north island distribution centre hopefully bring down the freight component a bit for me.
Trevor Gillbanks 6,847
nd I'm really looking forward to Ecroyd having a north island distribution centre Waireka Honey Centre on State Highway one is the local rep in the Manawatu. It does save a fair bit on freight.
deejaycee 2,457
of course, and we've got Arataki here in HB... but I find that I prefer to do my planning and purchasing at home, and usually outside shop hours, ie, online. So I use Arataki for the small or urgent purchases, but do my bigger orders direct to Ecroyd.
Rob Atkinson 491
given that most growth in industry appears to be in north Is would make sense for them

JohnF 729
Is this actually a merger? Or an acquisition by Ecroyd's? In which case you'd still have Ecroyd's in the South Island and Ecrotek in the North Island. Would have thought that one was far larger than the other for an even merger! Katikita 375
It will be interesting to see Ceracel's reaction. They are under new ownership sooooo ?? Healthy competition
Dennis Crowley 1,351
Will be interesting as the new shop for them is just around the corner from ceracels.

Alastair 8,630
They need a different graphic designer. The symbol, and the name, are weird. I know the idea is 2 things joining. But they both still weird. Who wants to say Ecrotek? What else do I think? That the cost of frames might go up.
DudleyBee 8
This is good news, finally a decent competitor for Ceracell in the NI. Not sure why the price of frames would increase because of a merger. The name is ok - easy to remember.
