It's interesting sometimes to back at people's past posts...

Hey guys. I have a bunch of bees gathering at the front of the hive. About 2 cups worth. They have been for a week or so, but there are a lot more today. Any advice on what is happening here?

Photo please.

If they are clumping at the entrance I find that’s a good sign they aren’t far off swarming.

If so Have you had a good look through for swarm cells recently ?

There were swarm cells. What’s my next step? Split? I’m not too interested to have another hive to look after.

If you have a mouseguard or reduced entrance, remove these to create extra ventilation.  From the photo you have supplied the entrance looks quite narrow.  If you are in urban Auckland on pollen & nectar, add a queen excluder and honey super - this will create space for the colony, plus ventilation

It's interesting trying to make sense of your comment

I think that @Dave Black may have missed out on a word and his post should read.

It puts a different light on the post.
