Manuka name being protected

It's autoclaved and incinerated by an MPI-approved contractor.

If I have read that correctly the Aus manuka industry is worth $1.2b while our manuka industry is worth only $300m ish?

I reads as 'the Manuka industry' not the Australian Manuka industry

Bekeepers there must be the same as here LOL. 

 

They are supposedly making 1.2 billion, but when something has to be spent they want govt. help ha ha.

Will this not end up like Wagyu.  The nz rip off version is called Wagyu Beef.  99% of consumers will not be able to tell the difference.  I know I got fooled at the restaurant. 

 

So nz will call it Manuka

 

Oz will call theirs Manuka Honey

 

They will win
