Bruis 39 Posted February 4 Has anyone any experience of this, either in NZ or overseas? The protagonists claim that in most cases, desensitization to bee stings, i.e. removal of the risk of anaphylaxis, is possible in an intensive course of treatment lasting as short as three days! Look it up.
awootton 1 Posted February 8 yes it works. The rush part is only the start. It is followed by weekly, then monthly boosters for 3-5 years, so it is a significant commitment. But immunotherapy is effective and as far as I am aware rush is now the preferred regime. I undertook it after experiencing serious systemic reactions and now regularly get stung with no effects other than normal minor swelling/itching reactions.
Kerry 2 Posted February 10 (edited) Proper medical immunotherapy is effective. I would not recommend any treatment not supervised by an immunologist. That is a doctor with training in immunology. Edited February 10 by Kerry
