Dave G 51 Posted January 1 Just finished "The Honey Factory" It's a great read about bees centred around a scientific approach - but not too overwhelming with science speak. It's written by two German authors, so their approach is quite different from the usual American, Australian or UK descriptions and perspectives. Highly recommend this!

Joe Wesbrook 9 Posted January 9 Tautz also wrote "The Buzz About Bees: Biology of a Superorganism" (Springer Verlag, 2009, https://www.springer.com/us/book/9783540787273). Expensive, but worth it. Marvelous photos.
Trevor Gillbanks 5750 Posted February 2 (edited) Thanks to @Dave G I have just finished reading this book. It is rather an interesting way of writing a book. It is sort of: 1. A fairy tale 2. A book of non fiction. 3. A book of facts. 4. And just a pretty reasonable yarn. I learnt of few new things in the book and was sceptical about a couple of points. It seems to be written by someone (or several people) who have studied up on bees but have not really been into a hive very often. I found it to be more a book of entertainment rather than a science book. A jolly good read overall. Edited February 2 by Trevor Gillbanks 1
