Conference- anyone going?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering who might be heading down our way for the Apiculture NZ conference this year. I haven't been since the last one in Taupo a few years ago mainly due to a feeling that I was being sold to rather than informed by it (kind of the same feeling that I get from the Beekeeper now too). Thought it was about time to poke my head in and as this year is just down the road it seemed like a good chance. Not sure if anyone has posted up about this already, I couldn't find anything but if they already have, apologies. But if anyone is around it might be a good chance to catch up face to face...always nice to put a face to the name and opinions. ?

Would have been nice to meet up. I have some honey to send to you tomorrow.

Thanks .

It would be at least $800 for conference and accommodation .

I could put the money to a north island rd trip and visit you then .

I have always wanted to visit the barrier and see how other remote people live .

In some ways we are more remote than you  even though we are on the mainland .

You’re right we really aren’t very isolated here. 1/2 hour plane ride to the madness of Auckland.

If anyone is interested in science & research into bee health and other issues then I can say that we have a fantastic line up this year on Monday afternoon 23rd. You can feast your eyes on this lot and down load the abstracts of various presenters at

Conference is not sold out as of this week but the organisers expect the usual rush of ticket sales leading up to the event. Best get in now. BF

I thought it must have been sold out.

I registered our interest months ago and the email I got back said they would send the info through when registration opened .
