6 weeks old now.

Had her shots yesterday, she was so good, only cried a little and was fine 2 minutes later.

Growing everyday.

Ive been letting her have her little hands out a bit lately, she’s still getting the hang of them, she has been using them to pull her hair, she scratched her face too which she wasn’t impressed by, she needs to be supervised with them until she gets the hang of it.

Took her to see Chris’s Mum last Sunday and she still had some of Chris’s gowns from when he was a baby so I perked those and she’s been wearing them, so cute!

Not the most practical things in the world compared to the gowns of today but they are 30 years old.

Everyones probably noticed she always has a dummy in her mouth now, this is because she’s a hungry little hippo and she likes to eat until she explodes, she’s taken to spewing on me on the regular so now I give it to her to keep her busy and give her little tummy some time to settle and it keeps her happy and I don’t get sicked on as much.

Its been quite cold so Mum knitted her a sweet little underlay for her bassinet out of some wool she spun, I love it so much! Nice and snuggly for bub.

Chris said to me the other day that I’ve pretty much turned our bedroom into an incubator now, we’ve got a little humidifier going in there along with the heater lots of noises and annoying blue lights ? but it keeps baby happy.

Shes been sleeping so well, 5 and a half hours is about the record for a night sleep, but 3-4 hours is about the norm so she’s pretty good really.

@Daley that's a really cool carry bag . Did your mum make that too.

Imagine what it must have been like looking after a baby without stretch knits. ?:14_relaxed:

Generally speaking I hate other people’s children, but I often don’t like other people either ?

So far so good with my one but we’ll see how I feel when she starts back talking.

I think she’s pretty cute, I always wonder if you would know if your own kid was ugly or if you look at them with rose tinted spectacles, I have seen the odd baby where I’ve been like.. holy....

Yeah I definitely love her a lot, and I have a lot less free time then I did!

I can’t wait until she starts to be able to move around and do stuff.

The cuddles are pretty good tho ?

The carry bag?

The bassinet? I got it from baby factory, it’s a Moses basket on a rocker, it’s fantastic, nice and light and portable makes it so easy to move baby round the house to wherever I am so I can keep an eye on her. I can sit in my chair and rock it with my foot which is good too.

Stretch knits are great!

Yeah I’ve had to make her bed with sheets a couple of times because her sleep bags have gotten wet, and it’s a nightmare compared to just zipping her into a bag.

Having to worry about stuff ending up over her face or having her wriggling about and getting cold.

She HATED being swaddled with her arms down, any time I tried it she just cry’s and cry’s, she sleeps with her arms up and likes to be able to suck on her hands.

Our oldest was spewer.  Being a new mum with no family around I didn’t know any better.

We got her a dummy too, it helped heaps. We had to start her on Farax from about 3 months to help fill her up. She should outgrow it an a coupe of months ???

I agree that other people's babies aren't always as cute as your own but yours is one seriously cute baby. As for dummies my mum was telling me that when my older sister was born there was no way she was going to use one, anyway apparently my sister was a real grizzler and one day my great-grandmother came by, saw she was like and promptly went to the shop and brought one. Mum said she still didn't like dummies but it was a darn sight better than listening to my sister. (She has improved with age)

Yeah my grandma initially gave me a bit of a hard time about it, but she knows now after having a little turn trying to settle baby ?

Me and Mum, mostly Mum are setting up for a market soon, Riley is supervising and like your typical foreman she’s asleep on the job.

Mums been very productive making soaps and happy feet (slippers).

I made a human though so I win.

Riley is 9 weeks old now, and 5820gm on Thursday so doing well, she’s slowed down a bit on her weight gains but she’s still 75th percentile (she was 100) will be moving her to 3-6 month clothes soon as 0-3’s getting a bit tight.

We’ve started calling her Chubs, we’re going to have to stop before she knows what we’re saying ?

She met all the rallies on mums side last weekend at grandmas 80th and she’s such a chill baby.

Sleeps 6-7 hours most nights now ? absolutely magic.

The little boy in the second photo is my best friends son, he’s 1, him and Riley are getting to know each other as her and I decided to marry them off one day ?

Also, I’m knitting her a vest, I’m pretty proud of it because I had to learn a new pattern

@Daley she's a really good sleeper .

You are very lucky to be getting such a good sleep when she is so young.

They used to have to give babies laudanum to make them sleep like that.

It's fallen out of favour these days.

I wonder how many babies got addicted and how they managed getting clean in a toddler .

It must have been horrendous in a poor Victorian household with about half a dozen other kids to manage .
