Here’s my doggos.

The black and white one is smart and knows about bees, he stays away.

The brown one not so much, she will kill anything that fly’s, from bees to remote control helicopters.

I’m constantly picking stings out of her nose and mouth.

Of course you will have a new baby soon so any thoughts of other new young living things will be extinguished for quite a while. :6_smile:

Bindi on the left, Lily on the right.  Both complete nutjobs.   Neither goes beekeeping, because they are both prone to brain shutdowns, but both are avid beecatchers at home and don't care at all about stings.   Bindi suffers from second child syndrome, in that this is the only photo I have of her.

Early on, Lily took responsibility for feed quality control

Fortunately she doesn't react to stings at all now - but she used to get a swollen lip ocassionally.

Im not sure if it matters but foxy's tend to hunt by sight, just like Greyhounds.
Beagles, Bloodhounds, Harrier Hounds, and possibly Labs are nose dogs.

There are probable cross overs but my Bee dog will be a light colored nose dog with coarse short hair.

They are easiest to train if they continually hungry like a Lab.

Ted is our fifth Daly.  Came to us from a disjointed home where the ultimatum was’honey, either the dog goes, or I go’

I would never be brave enough to issue tha sort of ultimatum..... I don’t have a tent anymore.

It's called a pioneer. A local man makes/used to make them for DOC. Sure pumps out the heat and is far superior to the old junca that we had. At this time of year it goes 24/7 heating water and radiators and keeping the living room up to world health standard temperature.

I suppose they are not available now.

Probably not pass emissions requirements.

We have enough land that we can get the best burning stove and shut it right down at night.

I'm not sure if he still makes them ..... to be honest, we don't worry about emmissions. We chuck coal in at night so it's still warm in the morning and just keep burning wood.... lord knows we've planted enough trees over the years to compensate for it, and I think that Hawaiian volcano will make NZ's emissions look like a fart in a sack !
