Anybody doing Bee venom?

Recommended Posts

Does anybody do commercial bee venom or know of someone who does, I'm keen to get into it for next season.

There are a number of outfits who pop up on Google, including someone who claims "Our New Zealand Pure Bee Venom is derived from 100% Manuka Honey Bees in the South Island,"

Try Warren Mills of Mills Farms they are out Fairburn not too far from you, as far as I know they still collect venom

Tried him but he wanted to use my hives and I'm not keen on anybody's gear going on mine. Especially if I'm not going to get much out of it

LOL that's pretty funny, slap the word manuka on just about anything and it instantly becomes more desirable.

Can smaller quantities(100-200g) be sold overseas? I heard of 1-2 big buyers but not sure if they bother with small quantities.

When I was trying  to buy milk protein - sodium caseinate to make the bee pollen sub in Practical Beekeeping, Fonterra made it quite plain that as I only wanted a small amount, would be easiest to get some re-imported from China. Fortunately found a smaller sane manufacturer. I didn't need the melamine added.
