Varroa controlled by sound

Recommended Posts

We are therefore pursuing a completely new approach...

Apparently this device blasts the hive with music from various modern artists and the developers need Crowd funding to pay the royalties.

This is my understanding of the device anyway

There's a device like that for ants .

I know a lady who just brought one I shall find out if it works for her.

Even if the varroa one works there is no info on where and how in the hive you put it .

Is an ant more like a Mite or a Bee?

The destructions say directly on top of the frames under an empty super for 25-30 days. That would be wild comb city I reckon.

Ants and bees are insects. Mites are not, they are Arachnids, same crowd as spiders & scorpions.

It was presented at the Apimondia this year.

To me the sound was very annoying, but I was told that the older guys can't hear it. Damn, I'll have to wait.

I asked if they can make it play a parallel melody e.g. Motzart  (I would love work the bees in musical atmosphere, plus if the cows can listen music, why not the bees as well), but the inventor said no.

The claim was 90% efficiency in 40 days
