It was a great trip and the BBQ in Rogersville at the apiary was fantastic.

cBank 786 Posted September 6, 2018 (edited) Those hive mats and lids look nice. I’m finding thick mats to be way better and those are very thick. @Trevor Gillbanks was there anything bee related that you came away with that you’ll be adopting here? Your list of visit locations looks excellent, you covered some ground. Edited September 6, 2018 by cBank
Trevor Gillbanks 6214 Posted September 6, 2018 Yes. It was a great trip. 1 sure tip that I use all the time now whenever I visit an apiary is to beat the grass around the hives and make a lot of noise to scare away the snake. So far it has worked a treat and I have not seen any snakes around my hives. 1 1 3
Trevor Gillbanks 6214 Posted September 6, 2018 I have found that beekeeping in USA and Australia and New Zealand are all pretty much the same. Bees still sting. Bees live Bees die Bees make honey

It was fantastic fun and I met some wonderful people. Some of them were also beekeepers.
