Oh dear, that doesn't sound very good. I hope they are not close to any of your hives :(
You often associate untidiness with bad practice, so I hope that's not the case.
  3. just to lasy to pick them
  4. I know Apistan is deadly to fish, so be sad if its near a river or stream. Thats shocking news.

Not to mention low levels of chemicals in the environment = development of tolerance

God Ive got bits of crap all over the apairy..Hunks of wax, homemade entrance reducers, chunks of wood, bits of ply, probably the odd varroa strip, an old wasp trap, box of matches, bits of corflute, queen cages LOL... A messy office is an efficient one.... ...And you should see the floor of my car! (or not..)As I understand it the active ingredients in these strips break down very quickly in sunlight....

Not a good practice though to leave strips lying around, I've seen all sorts total abounded hives on more than one occasion, one lot i just burnt the lot, actually done that twice in separate incidences. i did a afb inspection a few years ago and seen probably 2 to 3 seasons worth of strips still in the hives and what wasn't was spread all over the site was not a good look. Also stock love chewing on those strips if left around.
